Information

In Japan, the reengineering of waterproof layer method is usually divided into two categories: one class is called waterproof layer regeneration method, and the other class is called through injection method.

[Waterproof layer regeneration method]

Waterproof layer regeneration method, as the name suggests, injects the filling material between the existing waterproof layer and the concrete protective layer to form a new sealing layer to achieve the water stop purpose (as shown in the figure below)

The grouting material here is critical, and it must also have the following characteristics:

1) The grouting material must have a certain fluidity, so that it can flow into the subtle cracks in the structural layer under the action of pressure

2) The solidified waterproof layer must be resistant to blisters, and if used in the exposed structure, it must also be resistant to high temperature and freezing

3) The solidified waterproof layer has a certain toughness and can deform with the deformation of the structure

Waterproof layer regeneration method has the advantages of minimally invasive repair, quick effect, short construction time, small construction noise and price economy, so it is widely used in Japan.The work method can be used outdoors (roof, terrace, etc.), or indoor (kitchen bathroom, swimming pool, etc.).

In this work method, it should be noted that the:

1. The drilled holes should be grouting continuously. If intermittent grouting is conducted, a continuous waterproof layer may not be formed, which will not achieve the expected effect.

2. Carefully check the structure and level of the base surface before drilling (is there any protective layer?Is there a waterproof layer?Is there a heat insulation layer?Is there any embedded pipeline?)。

3. There must be a protective layer that can withstand the injection pressure (above 35mm) (which can not be used to expose the waterproof layer)

4. For the roof, pay attention to the buried pipes, for the kitchen, pay attention to the location of the water inlet / drainage pipes, gas pipes and electrical pipes.

5. If there is water inside the base level, the muddy water will be squeezed out into the material, and the injection will continue until the grouting material is squeezed out.

[Through-injection work method]

Through the injection method, as the name suggests, is to drill through the basement floor or side wall, and inject the filling material into the outside of the building. The grouting material forms a new waterproof layer on the external surface of the structure under the action of the external soil pressure and water pressure.At the same time, the leakage cracks are also full of filling material, to achieve the purpose of water stop.(As shown below)

This engineering method actually forms a new waterproof layer on the water surface where the structure is defective, so the waterproof effect is much more long-lasting than the traditional injection of foam polyurethane into the crack.
